| Your personalized plate
order has been placed. Your new plates will
be available in 8-12 weeks at the location
you selected. You will be notified by mail
when the plates are ready to be picked up.
After you receive your postcard, make an appointment
to pick them up at the SAN FRANCISCO
office. When you pick up your new plates,
please remember to bring in your current plates
to exchange them for the new personalized
plates.
If you fail to surrender your old plates,
you will be responsible for any unlawful
use.
If your current plates are personalized,
please do one of the following:
- Surrender the plates to DMV
- Assign the plates to another vehicle
- Pay an annual fee to retain the plates
If you are ordering personalized plates for a leased vehicle or a company
owned vehicle and your name is NOT on the registration, a 'Statement of Facts
(REG. 256)' form must be submitted. Have your lessor or company owner complete
Section J and sign in Section K, giving authorization for the plates to be
assigned to the vehicle. Bring the completed form when picking up your plates.
You will be able to access the
Statement of Facts (REG. 256) form on the Order Summary page when you have
completed your order.
